PAIN OF SALAVTION and their mastermind Daniel Gildenlöw have always been really unpredictable, therefore their new ouput is again a big surprise. Or, if you want to express it like that, this is therefore NO surprise.
The songs contained on this record fit into two categories: rock songs with an alternative touch on the one hand and acustic, sparsely arranged tracks on the other hand. The songs of the first categorie are all really difficult to get access to, whereas the songs of the 2nd categorie show all the class of PAIN OF SALVATION. Those songs (such like the title track or `Sisters`) have really beautiful, catchy melodies.
All in all I do have a two faced impression of ``Road Salt One``. If you want to understand the entire piece, you have to spend quite a lot of time.
