I had my problems with „Dead Throne“. Not that I didn´t like it, but I didn´t really fancy it either. Somehow I could remember only two songs after listening to the album from the Christian sixpack for the first time: “Kansas” and “Constance”. In the later, Tim Lambesis (As I lay Dying) joined in to the singing; “Kansas” was the only calmer track -apart from being peppered with some speech-sampling, it was largely instrumental. The rest pretty much galloped in one ear and out of the other. In general it was all hard, fast and with a bit of knick-knack, which was decently left in the background. Metalcore, but well made Metalcore. Apart from “Forever Decay”, where the synthesiser was way too much in the foreground. Unfortunately it lacked that certain something to make it something more than background noise. Shame.
