I was a bit surprised to read that Harmonic Generator are from France because they sound anything but French. The fivesome has done a lot to make their debut record as perfect as possible and it was all worth it. They even organized an extensive stay in Australia to not only learn the language but also to inhale Rock´n´Roll history exactly where it was written by many bands. This was the right thing to do because “When the Sun goes Down” features nine awesome songs with a big, fat Rock´n´Roll attitude. With these songs, they can even compete with their Swedish peers, who are masters of this genre. There isn´t much more that needs to be said about this record: great vocals, awesome music, especially for a debut album, what more could one want? The band just needs to make sure that they don´t repeat themselves on their next album. Otherwise it gets boring. In May, Harmonic Generator will play a few shows with Jeff Scott Soto – maybe then you will have a chance to check their live qualities and get hold of their record if you didn´t buy it already.
