In July it’s happening again – the 13th of the month is on a Friday and disaster takes its course. The guys from The Dead Notes apparently don’t seem to be superstitious, because just on this day they release their debut album “Down with Clichés”. Or was the date chosen on purpose? No idea, but actually there’s no reason to worry, because the album’s full of punk’n’roll a la Backyard Babies and Social Distortion, and you can’t really go wrong with that. The guys from Lower Bavaria are playing live since 2003 and you can hear that on the album. Most of the songs seem to be made just to be played live. But they can also take some steps back and thus there’s space for an acoustic song. All in all they are not really reinventing the wheel here but it’s still good fun to listen. Not bad for a debut album!
