Slowly it´s getting cold and first snow is announced, and suitable for this rather sinister season two German bands are guests at Z7. For me the evening begins with interviewing Sad Sir (End of Green), you´ll read about it here soon. After that I had to wait for a long time until the guys I met for the interview finally entered the stage.

End of Green
A few months have passed since their last visit at Z7 and a new album came out that received a lot of praise. The doom rockers present not only songs from their new album“High hopes in low places“, e.g. „Tie me a Rope…while you’re calling my name“ or „Saviour“, but also some old faves. While singer Michelle Darkness presents some new tattoos on his arm, his guys swirl around on stage as usual. Guitarist Kirk´s face hardly ever gives a glipse of his face through his long hair, and Sad Sir occasionally vanishes in the massive dry ice fog. Those five recorded the CD Gravedancer just for the tour, containing cover versions only. This CD is only available on tour and nowhere else, therefore I recommend to check out the guys when they pass through your town. End of Green always deliver shows in high quality and great songs, and Michelle´s distinctive voice will capture you again and again. Therefore it´s no surprise that even fans from Italy had come to see them.

I can only be surprised by this band, because I have neve rseen them live, and after checking their website your expectations are pretty high. Megaherz Fronter Lex shows a lot of self confidence from the very start when he dances around on stage. Admittedly I am not a big fan of German vocals or lyrics like„Liebestöter“ and „Miststück“ or other songs of that band. For me it´s bad that a musician has to present himself as sex god. But that´s simply a question of taste. Also the audience at Z 7 seems to be differ in opinion about this act, it seems that „you can just love or hate them“ and nothing else or in-between. The Megaherz Fans seemed to enjoy the show, and the band surely played their asses off to present a great show to their audience. And even if you don´t like the lyrics and the style, this act convinces with it´s professionality.

Summing up, it would have been nice to have End of Green playing a longer set, just because of all the fans that travelled far to see them.
