Magna Vice
Fresh Act October 2013

There have been several excellent prog rock bands that have come from Finland in the past. The classic Finnish prog rock scene now has a fresh act to consider. Magna Vice is a relatively new band, but since the musicians in the band are what I would call "old school rockers" and very experienced as such, Magna Vice has a certain gravity to it right from the beginning. These are rockers who have grown up to the sounds of Kiss, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd - all of those and more. They´ve learned their thing through some formal training and lots of practice, but most of all, by listening to loads and loads of music.

They´ve just released their first album, called Serpent of Wisdom. It´s a classic prog rock concept album that has a very retro sound to it (read our review here). I was invited to sit down and chat with the band for a while, to get to know a bit more about them and their music. >> more/mehr

Fresh Act April 2013

Sometimes it goes like this – Maplerun, the Proggressive Rock / Metal band from Greece was looking to promote their latest album “Restless” and contacted us. We checked out their music, liked it and decided they were an interesting candidate for this months´ Fresh Act. They have been around as a band since 2007, but are yet unsigned. Still, they say they will make music no matter what. So far hey have successfully toured Europe twice, appeared on two big national TV shows, and their song “For You” is featured on the video game ”RockBand 3”. Guitarist and singer Nick took the time to answer STALKER´s questions and to introduce the band. >> more/mehr

STALKERs Fresh Act – September 2009

Once again it´s time that we introduce you to a band with a female vocalist. This month belongs to the young rockers Marhold from Switzerland. Rock-Prog Metal needs a voice that doesn´t sound like a fairy and with frontlady Alex the band certainly found the right person for the job. Alex was nice enough to answer some questions for and tells us what´s the deal with a primitive good-for-nothing. >> more/mehr

Fresh Act May 2014

Although this band has been in existence since 2005 and released several EP´s during their career (e.g. "Magnum for Amen", "Ways to Make You Fall") it was not until the MyGrain birthday gig that this Finnish quintet caught the attention of STALKER (here the report ). And that´s all about it how we got to know those guys, now it´s the turn of the band members themselves to introduce this act to you. >> more/mehr
