Foghorn Lonesome: The wish to be someone else
I´ve never heard of Foghorn Lonesome before, but their tracks on Soundcloud revealed to me songs of deep emotions and strong feelings, a bit unusual for a music genre like darkwave, electro Goth. Without being able to explain why, this music touched me, and so I had to know more about the band and also to introduce this project to our readers. Because it is to good to be unheard. The face behind Foghorn Lonesome, Eric Sparkwood, told me a bit more about the project, and he turns out to be a very thoughtful person. Even though someone who creates such beautiful songs has no reason wanting to be someone else, he is longing for something he hasn’t found so far. I definitely keep my fingers crossed that he’ll soon find it. Find out more about Foghorn Lonesome and Eric here. >> more/mehr

FOX: „You can make your dreams come true in different ways!“
A new star in Swiss hard rock heaven celebrates the CD release party in Solothurn Kofmehl on that evening. The backstage area buzzes with activity since no one wants to be miss the Swiss band Fox presenting their debut album "2012" for the first time to an audience. It is a bit difficult to find a quiet place for an interview and to stay calm, when some people are overly interested to listen, some even take pictures of the interview - and you never know where they might be emerging. Despite of all preparation stress, singer Mark Fox takes his time to talk with us about the Mayan calendar, co-producer Chris Von Rohr and his break-up with Shakra. >> more/mehr

Frank Vollmann: It’s all about the kiss
A dark and rainy Scandinavian night and it’s Halloween, special double feature gothic party on a boat in Helsinki harbor, perfectly set within a stormy Finnish autumn. The boat’s upper deck for EBM, lower deck for post-punkers, excessively adorned in fake spider webs, florescent plastic tarantulas and authentic squeaks of the old wooden boat. Special guests of the night – two electronic bands from Sweden and one something goth from Berlin (but who is American in fact). >> more/mehr

Frankley Everlong: Dinosaur freak goes disco
Sweden has a lot of bands to offer, but Frankley Everlong is one of those few bands who don´t sound like that, their sound rather appears pretty American. And to your surprise this threesome hails from a small Swedish town, not one of those big “usual suspects”. One thing is for sure, their singer and mastermind Tommy has got the style, the attitude and the talent to create something new, and this is why he introduces Frankley Everlong to us. >> more/mehr

Furyon: The name of the warrior
The debut album “Gravitas” proves that the British band Furyon has indeed what it takes to make it big (see the STALKER review) . With their songs that mix Heavy Metal, Prog and Classic Rock they created a fresh new sound, and the voice of singer Matt Mitchell adds the necessary recognition value. And it is this remarkable front man who introduces the band to us. >> more/mehr
