Ok, so this is the new musical output of DAWN OF WINTER… We are talking about German Doom Metal, naturally a good thing you`d think. The album „The Peaceful Dead“ does convince me very little unto not at all, though. Their label names them a cult band – you can argue about that – so you expect a lot more than the offered, you get to listen to tedious yodeling with a willing but not able vibrato accompanied by a very boring background music. The guys can definitely still learn a lot from their self- praised idols Black Sabbath, they know how to do this! Hopefully producer Achim Köhler (Primal Fear, Sinner, Totenmond) didn`t have to use the full technical capacity to get the best out of the vocalist Gerrit P. Mutz, because otherwise I wouldn`t want to know how all of this is supposed to sound live! Sure there are various Trash- and B- Movies which grew to be cultic, but in this special musical case bad doesn`t mean good!
