``Idmen``, the new release of the Polish progressive rockers Indukti, bears light and shadow. This is shown already with the opening track `Sansara`. A pure instrumental track as an opener is not rare. Also the straight riffs and drums sound quite cool, as well as the violins. But is it necessary that such a simple structured song is more than 8 minutes long?
This example shows pros and cons at the same time: Indukti see themselves as a purely instrumental band. Vocals are only performed on some tracks and only by guest musicians. The 5 polish guys and girls really understand to combine different styles of music into one song. From Metal to Worldmusic, everything finds its way into the songs of indukti. Nevertheless, this variety of styles really interrupts the flow of the songs. The length of the tracks (up to 11:32!!!) also makes them viscous like chewing gum.
Nevertheless, Indukti in general and ``Idmen`` especially do have their right to exist. Especially the harder passages sound quite well. But sometimes less is even more!
