Finally, a Razzia/pop album that convinces from start to finish, without any reservations. An icon of this genre is responsible for that – with The Anatomy of Timo, Timo Räisänen once again proved that his name means high-quality music on a technically advanced level. The talented songwriter shows with his well-oiled team, how it is done.
Of course, the sound is really smooth but the guitars come forward now and again, too. The piano is rather soft and obviously, great hooks are cranked out all the time. It’s laudable, too that master Räisänen doesn’t sound too cheesy, Swedish-sugar coated like many of his colleagues. With him, ballads simply sound authentic and not kitschy at all. Tunes like Without You or Moonchild fall a bit short, though. Here, some energy is missing. However, those are the only weak tracks, the rest is of really high standard.
Everyone who likes well-done, natural mainstream pop with a contemporary production will be in good hands with Timo Räisänen. Maybe The Anatomy of Timo is not exactly the best record of all time but still, it’s of very high quality. Thanks also for the great cover, finally one can see the singer, too. There we go!
