The Czech band hails the 80s – after a dramatich intro Eagleheart takes off with a classic Melodic Speed Metal track „Shades Of Nothing“. Adding the Symphonic Metal element later, the comparison with Helloween, Hammerfall or Stratovarius is inevitable – as the album was also produced by Roland Grapow (Masterplan, ex-Helloween), who added some guest vocals and guitar soli. Another inevitable comparison is Blind Guardian, just because of the vocals – singer Vojtěch has a remarkable voice, in the category of Marco Hietala / David Wayne (RIP) and not this annoying falsetto. Moreover, there can be no doubt about the band´s musical skills. Their debut album, ‘Dreamtherapy’, which follows the debut ‘Moment Of Life’ (2008), is definitely a must for Power Metal fans, yet I heard enough after some tracks. However, the final „Wheel Of Sorrow“ is such a great song, epic and varied – an example that Eagleheart will soon be able to step out of the shadow of their influences.
Vojtěch Šimoník – vocals
