German Hardrockers BERSERKER will donate 18.000€ to the Berlin cancer charity for children on May 25. November 2011 BERSERKER front man Schröder was diagnosed with cancer, now he is cancer-free. In 2012 the band collected money for this charity at their concerts and will also continue to do so in the future. Slayer´s Jeff Hanneman is dead: he passed away at about 11AM on May 2nd near his Southern California home because of liver failure due to an infection after a spider bite. R.I.P. Jeff! Festivals cancelled: ROCK AM SEE (GER) takes a break in 2013 "lacking attractive headliners"; BURNING SEA in Croatia had to succumb to a new tax regulation; yet purchased BS-tickets can also be used to visit METALDAYS in Slowenia.

„I-Dentity“ is the third release of the Swiss Rockband Tribal. Three years after “Corner of a Circle”, the new album presents the band even more multifaceted and variable than on the predecessor. The song lyrics - as the title already says – deal with the issue of a person´s identity, they are about the fact that we change, and nothing is forever, but also that people want to change you and that people should believe in themselves and hold on to their dreams.
Also the first single release “ Die Kraft, sie ist in dir” is dedicated to this issue and is the first German language song of the band, and really well-done, because such a good standard German pronunciation is not that easy for a Swiss. With the choice of the issues, TRIBAL hits the bull’s-eye and that’s what they also do with their sound. The album gets better and better track by track, and “Spiral of Insanity” is clearly my favorite of the album. With the melodic guitar parts, a few euphoric passages and a catchy chorus, this song appears at the right place, after rougher songs and just before dismal passages. With the new release “I-Dentity”, Tribal find the balance between Old School Rock and Modern Rock, between melancholy and power, and this is good to hear! Tribal are multifaceted, but stay true to themselves. I am looking forward to the next release.
