The Polish rock-band KULT 2013: 30 years old and with the fourteenth album of their work under the people. We are talking about the band of singer and lyricist Kazik Staszewski, which has cut particularly with their sharp-tongued, Polish poetry deep furrows in Polish music history and critical thinking of various generations of students - thinking about church, state, politics, social issues, just about Poland. KULT has a new album on the market, "Prosto" ("Straight" or even “Simple”).

The last album of 2012 "Hurrah!" enjoyed an enormous popularity in Poland, because the style of Slavic rock party mood with a few splashes of punk fully met the taste of the fans. "Prosto" is much more massive and therefore presents brachial pathetic wind ensemble-rock with angry or worn melodic vocals - who knows Kult immediately discoveres similarities to the work before "Hurrah!". Party, yes, but on massive kind with typical quotes from the history of rock music. Typically as well the soft, synthetic, whimpering in the background Hammond organ.

From the first note, the distinct Kult-sound appears: two electric guitars in conjunction with the mini version of a big band of trumpet, saxophone and trombone, plus keyboard, bass and drums work like a lubricated machine from strings, keys, skins, valves ... and throat. Catchy melodies and choruses transport the intelligent poetry. But - who knows Kult and perhaps expected this as once in the 80s and 90s - nothing really new develops. Kult follows own tracks and their own concept. That sounds good and rich and fun. But it also has a lot of retro pose in itself, retro in the choice of musical quotations and concoctions from the own music existence.

Kult is a dinosaur, huge, massive, he stomps through the musical landscape, perennial as an institution, individual, unique, unflinching in the obstinacy against enslaving systematics in human heads. A piece of Poland from Poland for Poland. "Prosto" - released in 2013 and named in a short time as a golden album.
