The modern death metal band Tourettes Syndrome offers with “Sick Sense” a quite good album. The eleven tracks are all in all convincingly, often full of doom and depression, mostly full of metal and always variable composed and performed. The quartet around singer Michaele Madden shows on this record the whole range of their ability. Especially interesting are the different musical specials. There are often electro-parts or guitar riffs which seem to be adopted from classic heavy metal. Then the Australians change between death and nu metal, sometimes there is also a little bit of crossover. However, Tourettes Syndrome do not belong to the masters of the genre yet, but with this record they could manage to join the best of metal.
