Epic anthems are created by many bands, but a whole album consisting of only two tracks, but with a total playing time of almost an hour, this can only be made by Moonsorrow. The first song of this record with the beautiful title “Jäästä Syntynyt, Varjojen Virta” (Born of Ice, Stream of Shadows) begins slowly and melancholic. Acoustic guitar sounds with folk elements and accordion sounds, gothic metal parts joined by evil growls – there remains no wish open. Moreover, the different melodies are composed in a perfectly fitting way. You get something for dreaming but also for relaxing. Also the second track “Tuleen Ajettu Maa” (A Land Driven Into The Fire) is quite catchy.
Who wants to enjoy this album in the right way should give his whole attention to this monumental opus. One of the first perfect albums of this still young year!
