The second album of this Finnish band took some time, but it was worth waiting for. Ian Eric Highhill - voc, Jari Erik Sundström - git, Krister Lundell – b und Mikko Sepponen – dr incorporate Folk influences and Thrash parts into their music that superficially could be called Power/Speed Metal. But there is more underneath, and also because the topic of this CD´s lyics is the sinister time of middle ages. The early stages of Blind Guardian could be a good comparison, yet singer Highhill definitely towers over Mr. Kürsch. Powerful guitars, catchy melodies and orchestral arrangements – this band leaves you wanting more. The song „Fire and Ice“ and „Locked In Chains“ are little masterpieces, nice mid-tempo Metal with heroic attitude that doesn´t seem over-the-top. Just because of that this CD is worth having, and for Power Metal fans it is a must!
